new skilled immigrants to successfully settle in True to form, the recent budget also referred to this -- but in vague terms. The government promised to increase immigration settlement funding by $307 million. It also undertook to establish the Canadian Agency for Assessment and Recognition of Foreign Credentials. This is not the first time such items have been announced. Until we have more information about these proposals, it is impossible to say whether the government is serious about them, or if and when they might start to make a difference. .
